Quick answer: If your grades or English score are below direct entry level, the University of Bradford International College (UBIC) pathway routes are the fastest legitimate way into a UK degree. International Year Zero accepts a 50% Intermediate or HSSC, International Year One accepts 55% and puts you straight into year 2 of a Bradford degree, the one term pre-Masters accepts a 4 year Bachelor below 55%, and the two term pre-Masters accepts an HND or Dip HE. Every route needs only IELTS 5.5 with 5.5 in each band or PTE 59, and all four are open for November 2026 and January 2027.

Why this beats waiting a year to retake IELTS
Most students in this position do one of three things: retake IELTS again and again, pay for a pre-sessional English course on top of full tuition, or lose a full year waiting for the next September. The pathway route removes all three problems. You start in November 2026 or January 2027, you study credit bearing modules that count towards the degree, and your English is developed inside the programme rather than as an expensive add-on.
Study gaps are accepted
That is unusually generous. Many UK universities quietly reject applications with a gap over two years unless you can evidence continuous employment.
The 2026/7 fee cut makes the maths work
Progression tuition at the University of Bradford dropped sharply for 2026/7:
| Level | Route | 2025/6 | 2026/7 |
|---|
Add scholarships of up to GBP 4,000 on the undergraduate routes, up to GBP 6,700 on the two term pre-Masters, and the Bradford 60th Anniversary Progression Scholarship of GBP 2,700 for postgraduate students, and the total cost of a UK degree through this route is well below the national average.
Deadlines you cannot miss
For November 2026 and January 2027, entry is only available on the Science, Engineering and Health routes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
