Editorial Policy
Lightning Enrolment publishes guidance for international students applying to UK universities. This page explains how we produce, source-check and update every article and entry requirement on the site.
Who writes our content
Articles are written by the Lightning Enrolment editorial team, a group of UK admissions advisers, former international student recruiters and writers with first-hand experience of UCAS, UKVI student visa processing and university application cycles. Subject matter on visas, English testing and country-specific qualifications is reviewed by an admissions adviser before publication.
Sourcing and fact-checking
- Entry requirements are taken directly from the official university course page or undergraduate / postgraduate prospectus.
- Visa rules, financial thresholds and Graduate Route guidance are taken from GOV.UK and UKVI publications.
- English test recognition is checked against IELTS, Pearson PTE, Duolingo and TOEFL official documentation, and the relevant university acceptance pages.
- Where a number, fee or threshold is stated, it is dated. If the underlying source changes, we update both the article and the timestamp.
Updates and corrections
UK admissions and immigration policy change frequently. Each article displays a published date and an updated date. When a policy materially changes (for example salary thresholds for the Graduate Route, maintenance funds for student visas, or course-level entry requirements), the article is rewritten, not just edited at the margins, and the updated date is reset.
If you spot an error, please email us at support@lightningenrolment.com. Verified corrections are applied within five working days and noted on the page.
What we do not do
- We do not invent, estimate or "round" entry requirements. If a university does not publish a figure, we say so.
- We do not accept payment from universities or agents to influence rankings, recommendations or the order in which institutions appear in our guides.
- We do not provide formal immigration advice. Articles are guidance based on public sources; visa decisions rest with UKVI.
Advertising and independence
Some pages on Lightning Enrolment may display advertising provided by third party networks such as Google AdSense. Advertising never influences our editorial choices, recommendations or fact-checking. Sponsored content, where it appears, is clearly labelled as such and kept separate from editorial articles.
