Yes. In 2026, dozens of UK universities accept international students without an IELTS score, provided you can prove your English ability another way. This guide covers every accepted route and names the universities that take them.

Route 1: Medium of Instruction (MOI) Letter

If your previous degree or last 2-3 years of secondary education were taught in English, an official MOI letter from your institution is the most common waiver. Universities accepting MOI letters in 2026 include:
