February and March 2027 Intake UK Universities

    Quick answer

A smaller group of UK universities and private providers run a February or March 2027 intake, mostly for Business, Computing, Health and MBA courses. Applications typically close between late December 2026 and early February 2027, and you should allow 6 to 8 weeks for CAS and Student Visa processing before the course start date.

The February and March intake (sometimes called the spring or late-winter intake) exists because private providers and university London campuses run three or four starts a year instead of two. If you missed both September 2026 and January 2027, this is the next available start without waiting until September 2027.

    Who the spring intake suits

  1. Applicants whose January 2027 CAS or visa did not land in time.
  2. Students still waiting on a final transcript or degree certificate.
  3. Anyone who needs an extra English test attempt before meeting the condition.
  4. Career changers who want to start without losing a full academic year.
  5. February and March 2027 timeline

  6. Oct to Dec 2026 - shortlist providers and submit applications.
  7. Dec 2026 to Jan 2027 - conditional offers, usually within 5 to 15 working days.
  8. Early to mid Jan 2027 - meet conditions and pay the tuition deposit (GBP 3,000 to GBP 6,000).
  9. Mid to late Jan 2027 - receive your CAS.
  10. Late Jan to Feb 2027 - submit your Student Visa application with 28 days of maintenance funds held.
  11. Feb or Mar 2027 - fly out and enrol.
  12. Entry requirements

Spring entry requirements are the same as September and January: 96 to 112 UCAS points or an equivalent school qualification for undergraduate, a 2:2 or 2:1 for postgraduate, and IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 (or an accepted alternative such as PTE, LanguageCert, Duolingo or a medium-of-instruction letter).

    What to watch out for

  13. Fewer courses. Engineering, Nursing with placements, Law LLB and lab sciences are rarely available in spring.
  14. Shorter visa runway. February starts leave little slack, so have your financial documents held for 28 consecutive days before you apply.
  15. Scholarships. Some early-payment and regional scholarships are September-only, so ask before you assume the discount applies.
  16. Not sure if spring is right for you?

Compare it against a January or September start with our January 2027 vs September 2027 comparison, or check the full January 2027 university list first, since January still has far more places.

Lightning Enrolment submits your application to these providers directly, free of charge, and chases your offer and CAS for you.
